Dow Terneuzen based Dow Kart Club (Team DKC) received a new racing outfit..

July 16th, 2015 was a memorable date for members of Dow Kart Club (DKC) as they received that day their new racing outfit.
Founded in 2005 Dow Kart Club is a subsection the PV Dow Terneuzen, aiming to provide the ability to race in a dynamic, fun and affordable way. DKC members are aligned to Dow as employees or are family of employees.
DKC, a small team of twenty go-kart enthusiastics compete several occasions per month at local go-kart tracks in the Netherlands and Belgium in indoor and outdoor races amongst each other, and in a competition against other companies and teams in the province of Zeeland, the Netherlands.
Despite a strong team spirit, DKC was missing some outward recognition as one team due to the variety in race outfits. In order to reflect this as One Team, Team DKC, part of the larger Team Dow, DKC has been searching for a sponsor of a new uniform kart suit.

DKC found its sponsors with the Dow Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Program based in Midland, Michigan, partnering with Richard Childress Racing (RCR), one of NASCAR's preeminent race teams based in Welcome, North Carolina, both in the United States.

Together with the generous sponsors a new suit was developed, all-black with the Dow Diamond prominent at the front and back. After being manufactured at the SPARCO plant in Italy and delivered, finally the moment was there to distribute them to the team members and give it a try on track.
On July 16th DKC gathered together for an extra event at Indoor Karting Middelburg. All members were present but two due to work related conflicts. And of course all were exited to try on the new suits. Does it fit? How does it look, and how does it feel? And of course will we go faster around the track than ever before ………

Alwin de Bruijn, DKC president, spoke on behalf of Gregory Baldwin, director of Dow Racing:

The Dow Racing team is both excited and honored to be able to support the Dow Karting Club. Employee clubs and networks bring value to our company in terms of employee engagement and motivation. We find the same with the Dow Racing program in the U.S. Not only does it engage and energize employees, it is also allowing us to achieve business objectives that are making the company money and helping us build stronger and deeper relationships in the markets we serve. Check out our Dow Racing intranet page for more information.

Please accept our donation of the Dow uniforms and know that we are wishing you much success!

After the suit introduction ceremony it was time to race. Proud of our new outfit we raced in two heats of 30 minutes each, with one required pit stop during the race. With pleasure we can all look back at a successful evening as One Team, Team DKC, part of the larger Team Dow.

On behalf of the entire DKC team I’d like to say thanks to our sponsors: Gregory Baldwin and Rebecca Bray of Dow Racing and Jessica Kiser of Richard Childress Racing.

DKC, President.
